RPC1 region-free firmware handles the regioning of the drive. Use the eauto, the same one that would be used for Dell.

Thats just an offhand suggestion. Start with uninstalling the nl-dt-st drivers in devicemanager, then restart. What brand name is the cd that was recorded? Start your own thread instead – you will also get more people paying attention to your problem that way.

Maybe that drive works only in the enclosure it was built-in previously. Still wouldnt mind your help once more?

I have this drive on my laptop, is this a dvd burner? According to your description, this could be a slimline drive as used in hll-dt-st.
