Thanks, would be a good upcoming birthday gift for my old man. Batteries are “cell made in japan, pack processed in china”. My impact driver is made in Japan. Cheap drill sounds great…until a big masonry bit gets stuck and your wrist goes pop. Don’t get me started on bunnings and how they use their muscles to squash the competition for no real benefit to us, the consumer. I have also attached an image of both models.

I actually asked my Thrifty Link hardware store do they match price. The is a good little drill. I was advised that tradies doing a drive through end up throwing them into their toolbox.

I had been to a few hardware stores and then found a similar looking drill in the latest Bunnings catalog. That’s the great thing about Lithium Ion batteries, they give you full buunnings right till the end but yeah it takes getting used to. I’m sure there’s some exceptions such as tablesawsbut the drills are a good example of a similar model being made with cheaper parts in China. I know someone who worked in a local hardware store and they were really pissed off Bunning’s was killing their business.
